Happy 11 months, Holly!

Our lil’ ray of sunshine

clap, clap, clap

Can’t believe how fast you’re growing! If we lived in Brazil, you’d be having a little celebration right about now (according to what I’ve seen on facebook, all my friends from there have some cake every month of their babies first year). But since you were born in the USA, you’ll have to wait until you’re officially a year old. Sorry, kid.

But you’re having a lot of fun everyday anyway, aren’t you? Your new crawling (or more like fast scooting) skills are finally allowing you to join in your siblings’ fun. Remember when they used to freak you out? You’d stare at them in what seemed like a mix of amazement and terror. Now, you can’t escape my arms fast enough to be in the middle of their games. I always need to tell them to watch out for your head.

Maybe you’re not so scared of them anymore because by now you can tell both your brother and sister are in love with you. Melissa likes to play peek-a-boo with you and watches out for you, letting mommy know when you grab something too small, or if mommy asks you to stop fussing, she rushes to your defense: “Mommy, Holly doesn’t know how to obey! She’s too little!”

Andrew’s also growing so attached to you. Yesterday I made the mistake of informing him that he’d made you cry (don’t even remember why, maybe one his not-so-gentle rubs on your head). He totally freaked out. I tried comforting him, but he just kept crying “I want Holly!” with tears running down his face. The only way to calm him was to hold you close to his face. He then gave you a really heartfelt-looking hug and kiss on your cheek.

As you can tell, Holly, you’re very loved around here. Ma-ma and dah-y couldn’t have asked for a better 3rd kid. You’re the last little pinch of joy our family needed. Now that you’re quickly leaving babyhood, we can’t wait to her more of your delicious giggle. And judging from your constant babbling, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing you a LOT for years to come!
